VOCAL DATING

Community Guidelines

Last updated: August 5, 2026

VOCAL DATING is built on voices — real ones, in real time. These guidelines keep that space warm, honest, and safe, and set out how we meet our duties under the UK Online Safety Act 2023. Break them and we may remove content, restrict your account, or ban you permanently. Everyone is expected to follow the Terms of Service too.

Illegal content — zero tolerance

The following are criminal offences in the UK. We remove them on sight, ban the account, preserve evidence, and report to the police or the National Crime Agency where required:

  • Any sexual content involving under-18s, or any attempt to contact a child (Protection of Children Act 1978; Sexual Offences Act 2003).
  • Sending unsolicited sexual images — "cyberflashing" — and sharing or threatening to share intimate images without consent (Sexual Offences Act 2003 s.66A; Online Safety Act 2023).
  • Threatening, false or grossly offensive communications, and messages sent to cause serious distress (Online Safety Act 2023 ss.179–181; Malicious Communications Act 1988).
  • Harassment, stalking and coercive or controlling behaviour (Protection from Harassment Act 1997; Serious Crime Act 2015 s.76).
  • Encouraging or assisting suicide or serious self-harm (Suicide Act 1961; Online Safety Act 2023).
  • Inciting hatred or violence on grounds of race, religion, sexual orientation, disability or gender identity (Public Order Act 1986).
  • Fraud, romance scams, blackmail and sextortion (Fraud Act 2006; Theft Act 1968 s.21).
  • Selling controlled drugs, weapons, or offering sexual services for payment (Misuse of Drugs Act 1971; Sexual Offences Act 2003 s.52).
  • Trafficking or modern slavery in any form (Modern Slavery Act 2015).

Be real

  • Use your own voice and likeness. No catfishing, no AI-generated profiles, no shared accounts.
  • Be honest about your age, intentions, and relationship status.
  • One person, one account. Don't create duplicate accounts to bypass restrictions or bans.
  • Complete verification when asked. It helps everyone trust that the voice they hear belongs to a real person.

Be kind

  • No harassment, hate speech, slurs, discrimination, or targeted abuse.
  • "No" means no — first time, every time. Respect boundaries in voice notes, DMs, rooms, and matches.
  • Don't pile on, dox, or share private messages, voice notes, or rooms without consent.
  • Keep criticism constructive and tone respectful. A voice can carry more weight than text.

Keep it safe

  • Strictly 18+. Report any suspected minor immediately.
  • No nudity or sexual content in profile photos. No sexual content involving minors — ever.
  • No threats, weapons, drugs sales, self-harm encouragement, or promotion of violence.
  • No scams, spam, off-platform promotion, solicitation, or asking for money.
  • Don't share personal details like your home address, workplace, or financial information in public rooms or early messages.

Voice notes & messages

  • Voice notes should be genuine. Don't send scripted spam, pre-recorded impersonations, or unwanted audio.
  • If someone stops replying or asks you to stop, stop. Repeated unwanted messages may result in a ban.
  • Don't misuse listen receipts or screenshots to pressure or stalk others.

Vocal rooms & parties

  • What's said in a room is heard by everyone in it. Treat it like a public place.
  • Hosts set the tone. Follow their instructions and don't disrupt the room.
  • Recording or rebroadcasting rooms without consent from everyone present is not allowed.
  • Private studios are invitation-only. Don't share invite codes publicly or invite people the host hasn't approved.
  • A room ends automatically if the host goes offline. Don't impersonate a host or interfere with room controls.

AI-generated content

  • Don't use AI-generated photos, voices, or bios to impersonate a real person or mislead others.
  • AI-generated content used for humor or creativity must be clearly labelled and not used to deceive.

Reporting

See something off? Tap the menu on a profile, message, room, or party and report it. We review every report. Serious cases are escalated to law enforcement when needed. False reports used to harass others may also result in action against your account.

  • If you feel unsafe, leave, call local emergency services if needed, and report the user.

Consequences

Violations can lead to warnings, content removal, feature restrictions, temporary suspension, or permanent ban. We consider severity, context, intent, and history. Bans are not always reversible. If you believe a decision was wrong, you can appeal at support@vocaldating.app.
